Weather and Climate |
||||
| Brownsville in the Rio Grande Valley of Deep South Texas
experiences the state’s Warmest Winters and Coolest Summers. We have the
Best Climate for outdoor activities. We are weather friendly for beach,
sports, picnics, and most outside amusement. We locate ourselves in Deep
South Texas as the Weather Services refer to San Antonio area as South
Texas. Many times “South Texas” gets hit hard while Deep South Texas has
beautiful weather. The same goes for winter temperature forecasts. We are
290 miles due South of San Antonio, Texas. |
||||
| Summer
Weather temperature rarely exceeds 95. The daily humidity
is usually below 50%. Cool Gulf Breezes at 10 to 12 MPH make outdoors very
comfortable. Summer highs drop after the first tropical showers of September
or October. |
|
|||
| The Winter Climate at worst has highs averaging 70 with lows in mid 50s. Humidity remains low during the day unless we have precipitation. The breeze is 10 to 15 MPH with the March winds occasionally higher. | ||||
| The park is out of the 100-year flood plane. The worst rain experience was in 1980 with 35 inches in two days. The park roads were never covered during this tropical storm. We are well over 20 feet above sea level and 17 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. | ||||
