Enjoy fishing from party boats in the bays and Gulf of Mexico to pier and surf fishing in the salt water from you RV or tent. Fresh water fishermen have the inland canals, Rio Grande River, and area resacas. Bicycling
Brownsville is the place to enjoy biking all year. The winter is almost perfect everyday while the summer temperature peaks about mid afternoon at 95 normally. This leaves the mornings and evening great for biking. Flat open spaces with roads to match having shoulders in both the city and country offers many opportunities for a pleasent bike ride not far away. Country roads with shoulder and city street with marked biking paths are available. Golfing and Golf Courses
Brownsville offers the RVer a choice of courses not matched by many another locations in Texas. Five courses are within 25 minutes of Rio RV Park. Rio also offers a place for you to work on your shots with distance markers of up to 300 yards. We have maps to help you to locate a favorite course of your own. Two courses are city. Three more private courses are within twenty-five minutes. Many golfers from other towns prefer the Brownsville courses due to their quality, cost, and lower waiting times. The course range from par 70 to par 72. The cost of golfing in Brownsville is very reasonable. Some courses offer Rio RV Park golfers up to a 20% discount. Fishing
Friendly Fishing hotspot with salt and fresh water using live or artificial bait is rewarding.

Gulf of Mexico, Laguna Madre, South Bay, Arroyo Colorado, and Brownsville Ship Channel offer world-class saltwater fishing. Music is alive in Brownsville. Brownsville Society for the Performing Arts has combined sixty programs of UTB/TSC Fort Brown Arts & Entertainment, UTB/TSC Patron of the Arts, and South Texas Classical Guitar Society for the 01/02 Winter Season.
Jazz, Flamenco & Classical Guitar, Rolling Stones Tribute, Guitar Festival, Jazz Festival, and many programs are scheduled for your enjoyment.
After the Shows on Friday & Saturday evening at Cobblehead's, El Pescadito and ???? Nightclubs, Salsa! til 2AM w/Ritmo Caribe, Son y No Son, Latin Talk, and Ani & Out-of-Sync are available for your entertainment.

Charro Days Web Site
Charro Days is in the top 100 Celebrations in the USA. Feb. 19, 2006 to February 26, 2006 enjoy all part of the festival with parades, food, shows, dinners, and historical events. Palo Alto Battlefield - National Historic Site
The battlefield and historic museum offer a unique view with the only National Park Service location with a primary view of the U.S.-Mexican War. The site interprets the entire conflict - including the details of its origins and the broad range of consequences. Camille Lightner Playhouse & web site
Enjoy from Rio RV Park an evening or afternoon at the theater with live actors that you won't forget. See the other programs from the playhouse and make arrangements to purchase tickets.
