Birding and Butterfly Guide Service
Personal Local and Mexico Bird and Butterfly Guiding Trips and Tours

Enhance locating your target birds and butterflies at the best hot spots in Rio Grande Valley, RGV, South Texas and North East Mexico for you or a group using our friendly nature guide service. National Wildlife Refuges, Audubon Sanctuaries, Cloud Forest, tropical climate, Laguna Madre, lakes, and seashore beaches offer a diversity of habitat, birds, and butterflies all year. Spring Migration offers the most with breeding plumage while Fall Migration is good too. Summer time has many Mexican species at their Northern most locations whether in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley or Mexico. Plus, butterflies are better during the warmer months.

Year around specialties like Green Jay, Great Kisskadee, Tamaulipas Crow, Couch’s Kingbird, Ringed Kingfisher, Belted Kingfisher, Green Kingfisher, Plain Chachalaca, Red-crowned Parrot, Green Parakeet, Muscovy Duck, Least Grebe, Red-billed Pigeon, Ferriegenous Pygmy Owl, Buff-bellied Hummingbird, Brown Jay, White-tipped Dove, and others. Some others like Clay-colored Robin, Blue Mockingbird, Mask Duck, Tropical Parula, plus more can be seen more often than not. White-winged Dove, Inca Dove, Black-bellied Whistling Duck, Fulvous Whistling Duck, Grove-billed Ani, Altamira Oriole, and Hooded Oriole are among the summer only species.

site is for slow servers and phone line internet. Slow site will load in 15 seconds, but will have all the graphic in the back ground. This means printing will not have graphics. The graphic will take about six minutes to completely load.

Short quick intense trips, bird at your own pace, or for nature photography offer special unique rewards. All levels of birders, butterflyers, and photographers can enjoy a trip with us. Beginners will get a good understanding of bird and butterfly habitat and history. More advanced birders and butterfliers will get to see more hot spots and target species using our guiding service. Due to the migrating nature of Spring and Fall birds more advanced birders may well be more familiar with certain back home species.

As you can see, birding or butterflying the Rio Grande Valley is not done in one or even a few days. Depths of coverage and target species determine locations, timing, and amount of travel. Traveling 100 miles in one day is not unusual. North East Mexico also has some of the same challenges. Weather can make a difference, while some locations are prepared for a good birding experience except in an immediate down pour. Butterflies, to be plentiful, need warm, sunny, and damp weather.

Lee is working to fill a gap in Guiding for Deep South Texas and North East Mexico. He comes from a Hospitality Industry back ground that includes birding, butterflying, nature, and photography in Texas and Mexico. His nature activities have helped to develop knowledge of hot spots. Lee’s knowledge makes him a good local guide to enhance your nature experience through using his services regardless of your level.
